Art has the power to communicate when words fail. For almost three decades I have seen the power of this truth as a Licensed Art Therapist working in Art Education with adolescents in a school’s general and special education programs. I provide therapeutic services to my district’s Extended School Year Program during the summer months. In addition, I work individually with teens exploring how creating art reduces anxiety and has the power to regulate dysregulated behavior. I offer workshops for adults focused on mindfulness practices and creating art for self-discovery and healing.
