Psychotherapy should be collaborative, and able to adapt to the individual seeking treatment rather than demanding that the person fit some Procrustean bed of preconceived theory. My approach emphasizes individually tailored solutions that build on a person's strengths and makes creative use of their so-called weaknesses, i.e. it is competency based rather than pathology oriented. There is a strong effort to integrate mind, body, and spirit and to utilize both conscious and unconscious resources.
