Stephen T. Prystash, LMFT. I have been licensed to practice since 1988 and have been in private practice since licensure. Over the years I have found that people are generally programmed toward personal fulfillment (self-actualization). With this in mind, my job is to create a safe, comfortable setting where one can explore their personal story and thus grow toward their potential. The Greek philosopher, Socrates said (500 years before the birth of Christ), "the unexamined life was not worth living." In my view, it is this examination that therapy is about at a root level.
