About
In long term committed relationships we all long to feel seen and known. Couples in distress often say they are having a “communication” problem but it’s actually a “connection” problem. That’s because the normal rhythm in relationships from infancy on involves rupture & repair. Couples in distress typically struggle with too much rupture/disconnection and too little or no repair. The result is either chronic unproductive conflict or distance & isolation. It's from this place that people turn away from each other and engage in addictions & affairs, making it more challenging, but not impossible, to rediscover intimacy & connection. View 5 Photos As children we do our best to "adapt" to confusion, stress and trauma. It's these adaptive habits that are actually colliding when we get hijacked. I teach and guide from a place of curiosity, co-regulatory presence & relational mindfulness.
