I work best with adolescent and adult clients who appreciate a direct, to-the-point approach. I give lots of feedback and make my thoughts known. This approach tends to open up awarenesses that may have been unknown for a very long time. It is exciting to see this process unfold in individual psychotherapy. I was advised to "write about what you know" as an undergraduate journalism student and I think that advice applies to doing therapy as well.
