I am a Licensed Master Social Work counselor working in the practice of Dr. Michele Winchester-Vega & Associates in New Windsor, NY. Almost all insurance is accepted here including Medicaid. Though my somatic (body-based) lens impacts my work here, this practice is a traditional setting with an emphasis on talk-therapy. I also practice EMDR here. I am, for the time being, closing my in-person practice in Core Energetics as an Advanced Certified Core Energetics Practitioner. I continue to be available remotely. This generally has a greater emphasis on the somatic approach to therapy. As an ACCEP and a Licensed Master Social Worker, I approach healing and wellness via a somatic, or body-based lens which includes EMDR. Emotional effects of experiences literally get lodged in the body when we tense our muscles and restrict our breathing under stress. EMDR works neurologically to dismantle your negative beliefs and strengthen the positive.
