An ideal client would be an individual seeking a better life and might be unable to connect the dots. This may include recovery from alcohol or drug use with a desire for long term recovery or attributes from growing up in an alcoholic environment. They may be married to an alcoholic. Their relationships have probably suffered and need repairing; they may not know where to start. Life seems overwhelming and even difficult. All that is needed is a desire and some willingness. I listen to what's going on in their life, where they are trying to go and develop a treatment plan (goals, short or long term) based on what they are seeking help with and not what i may perceive they need.
