Hello, My name is Tamika Veal and I have over 8 years of experience counseling clients with issues such as depression, post-traumatic stress, family conflict, relationship issues, and anger management, among many other issues. My specialty is treating individuals with difficulties effectively communicating their needs within their relationships with partners, relatives, friends, children etc. with an emphasis on assertiveness training for building and nurturing long-lasting interpersonal relationships. I serve teens/adolescents 13-17 years old and adults ages 18-65+ by helping them solve issues they cannot readily solve themselves. I am interested in using specific modalities to treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which understands how your cognitions affect your mood and behaviors which determines how you feel & act. I use other evidenced-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Techniques for promoting insight.
