I focus on unresolved family of origin issues that typically result in the child never outgrowing appropriate insecurity. This then becomes inappropriate insecurity in adulthood which compromises the emotional quality of life in intimate relationships. This adult emotional insecurity manifests itself when a person unknowingly becomes excessively emotionally or physically dependent upon other human beings or activities for that emotional or physical nurturing. The loss of this nurturing will then trigger emotional stress. When this emotional stress becomes chronic, psychological and physiological problems can occur. I identify and teach my clients how to overcome this lifelong insecure thinking and behaving.
