About
I have extensive direct experience with treating both substance abuse and mental health in various treatment settings and levels of care. Many times clients resort to alcohol, drugs, addictive behaviors as a means to cope with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other forms of trauma and mental health issues. I use both exposure and neuroscience based therapies to treat trauma. I believe in recovery focused approaches that may include psychiatric care, community supports, and 12 Step and faith based support groups. It is essential to help clients decide what they want to do with the presenting problem.. Therapies Used: Multiple Channel Exposure Therapy (MCET) to treat PTSD focuses on reading, writing, and verbalizing about the trauma. Also utilize Lifespan Integration (LI) as an alternative that helps avoid re-traumatizing. CBT primary method in treating mood disorders. Client centered approach.
