The people who sit across from me every day, they are there for a variety of reasons; relationship and family challenges, grief and loss, symptoms of anxiety or depression, feeling the effects of trauma, dealing with aging issues, or just feeling like life has been overwhelming and they aren't sure how to deal with that. There are many reasons people seek therapy. But the common thread in all of these experiences is that people want to be free from what is preventing them from feeling free. Therapy can be a space where a person comes to understand the barriers to healing and then learn skills for creating change.
