With almost a decade in the mental health field—first in behavioral health and now in psychotherapy— I’ve learned that we all have innate skills to imagine and build lives that allow us to thrive. I also recognize there are systemic factors that often constrain our ability to do so. Which is why, as a black woman and child of Latin immigrants, I have an affinity with those existing on the margins of society. In an effort to empower all clients to build those imagined futures, I aim to root my approach in a social justice framework.
