One of my favorite quotes by John Kabat Zinn is “You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf”. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in a coastal area, these words speak to me for both the lives of my clients and myself. My experience is varied, including working in medical settings, mental health agencies, inpatient addiction treatment and privately. I work hard to assist in an open non judgmental way while stressing that I support, but the individual does the real work. Reaching out for help can be the difficult part and I welcome the opportunity to work with you in achieving your goals.
