Janelle Nimer, Ph.D., LCSW, has over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, veterinarians, and veterans who have experienced trauma to achieve their therapeutic goals. Dr. Nimer graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's degree and from the University of Tennessee with a Doctorate in Veterinary Social Work. She approaches therapy from a family systems perspective, even when working with individuals. She has training to work with individuals diagnosed with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and terminal illnesses. She uses an array of evidence-based practices with all her clients. Dr. Nimer specializes in aiding children and teens with emotional and behavioral issues. She is certified in TF-CBT and EMDR and consults those aiming for EMDR certification. For adults dealing with trauma, she provides focused AAI-EMDR sessions that last 3 hours and can be scheduled up to twice a day. Additionally, she organizes trauma-aware retreats.
