In my career, I have asked so many clients the same question: “How much time do you devote to work, school, family, and all the other responsibilities of life?” Then I ask: “How much time you devote to yourself and your own needs, to have space to explore or process your thoughts and feelings?” Usually, these two questions reveal the same trend: people allocate much less time for themselves than they do for others. Therapy is the time and space that you provide yourself to work on whatever you would like to achieve.
