I approach counseling with clients like a locked door, not every locked door can be unlocked with the same key. Different locked doors require different keys to open. What works for one client, may not work for another. This means I work with many different approaches. From CBT, ACT, Narrative, Psychoanalytic, to Solution Focus. However, my main counseling approach is Humanistic/Person Centered. This focuses on the therapeutic relationship between the counselor and the client. As a therapist my goal will be to build the relationship with my clients by providing an empathic understanding of my client’s point of view.
