I have spent the last seven years working with underserved communities in trauma-informed care and throughout this time have learned the importance of fostering safety, trustworthiness, and transparency during sessions with my clients. Trauma and mental health issues can often make one feel like they have lost a sense of control in their life so my goal is to empower and assist my clients in regaining their autonomy. The client is the expert of their own experience and therefore comfortability and a working partnership between client and therapist is essential to attaining one’s goals through therapy. I prefer a humanistic and wholistic approach to therapy – emphasizing relationship building and connecting with my clients on a professional level. I want clients to feel like they can move at their own pace and step out of their comfort zone when they are ready.
