Talking to someone about personal challenges can be tough—especially for kids and teens who might not know how to express what is going on in their lives. I try to make this easier on clients that choose to work with me by being playful, authentic, and honest so therapy can be a safe and supportive space where they can feel comfortable. I help clients navigate worry, anger, sadness, identity and family challenges, or grief by meeting them where they are. My goal is to help clients feel heard and seen, build skills, and move toward the life they want, by creating a supportive environment that is collaborative and client-centered. I believe in the power of being present because I have experienced how it can be helpful regardless of our age. When we stop to be present, often the needed next step or action becomes clear. I incorporate this into my work with kids through the therapeutic power of play which believes children communicate through their play which is reflected in my office.
