Is your child a blackbelt in avoiding responsibility, arguing their way out of any disagreement, or spending more time doing what they want rather than what you’ve asked them to over and over again? If only they’d sit still and finally listen. When it comes to children who have mastered these ancient arts however, such an approach rarely seems to work. Finding ways to help young people that isn’t perceived as scolding, lecturing, or punishing is my focus, and teaching them how to make peace with their inner world is my goal.
