About
Have you tried medication and found it not helpful? Have you found telehealth underwhelming? Are you finding yourself becoming impatient with making progress on feeling differently? I am not anti-medicine or anti-telehealth. It is my opinion that these services are best provided in person. I think an optimal approach to healing and transformation can include both therapy and medication, and sometimes therapy alone can make a difference. When it comes to wanting to see improvement or change, it is hard to practice patience. Impatience can masquerade as symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and mood disorders. Suffering is part of the work. Suffering is not the endgame, but some suffering will be required to experience transformation. Part of therapy is practicing difficult conversations. I try not to be difficult, but the subject matter, topics covered, and emotions, thoughts, and feelings that are processed in these conversations can be very difficult.
