I work with people whose parents and caregivers were unable to provide the emotional support and guidance they needed in childhood, even if they were well-intentioned. Ranging from emotional mis-attunement to outright abuse, these experiences lead to deep-seated (and sometimes unconscious) negative beliefs about oneself and others that precipitate depression, anxiety, unsatisfying careers, disconnected relationships, and difficulty feeling satisfaction and contentment.
