First of all, I have respect for anyone who walks in the door of a counselor’s office. I think it is a scary endeavor, at least it was for me. It takes a lot of courage to honestly confront your story. Because counseling is primarily about relationship and trust, I think the only main prerequisites are the willingness to be honest, sometimes brutally, honest, and the courage to start taking some new steps.
