My job as a therapist is to help my patients find and live their best life. For most of my people, that is a reduction in various mental health symptoms like anxiety, depressed mood, apathy, trauma-responses, strong and uncontrolled emotions, or poor sleep quality. It can also mean discussing what it means to live a good life despite said symptoms or challenges. My ideal patients typically are adolescents or adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship conflict, religious trauma, chronic illness, or just coping with the state of the world. I am a strong believer in the therapeutic relationship. Seeing someone who unconditionally accepts you and helps you sort out the chaos of life can be a very healing process. As a therapist, I do not necessarily see myself as a "healer," but someone who helps my patients explore and find their own answers while still using evidence-based practices.
