Psychotherapy is a unique opportunity to develop awareness, gain hope, and create the opportunity for change in one's life. Therapy begins with a relationship between the clinician and the client. The first and foremost element of change is the clinician's enthusiasm, personality and competency. That relationship allows change to begin. Researchers have described the dimensions of an ideal therapeutic personality as one who is genuine, authentic, accepting and open. Feedback from my clients is that I demonstrate those ideal qualities.
