Finding grace and serenity and balance in life is no easy task - even with the foundation of a supportive, liberating childhood; miraculously healthy personal boundaries; and true friends, colleagues, mentors, and lovers. Self-sabotage, self-doubt, seemingly mistaken paths: we're all vulnerable. We find ourselves yearning for an elusive guidebook - to rewrite our lifestory or escape from sometimes paralyzing anguish. All the more so if an overlay of fresh or longstanding trauma (heartbreak, grief, abuse, crises of health, home, or employment) overwhelms and destabilizes us or undermines our ability to trust, to forgive our missteps, even to breathe deep.
