Congratulations in taking the first step in selecting a counselor. I bet all these counselor profiles are starting to sound alike at this point. I'm sure you have noticed in reading the profiles that there are many approaches to counseling. I specialize in something called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a specialization in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). TF-CBT helps children as young as four but is also successful with adults. I utilize play therapy techniques with children up to twelve years of age and have over twenty years of experience counseling all members of the adoption triad from children to adults. We will work together to figure out how to understand your harmful thoughts, feelings and behaviors and replace them with positive, life-enhancing ones.
