As a counselor, my process begins with focusing on the client as their unique selves, learning about them and what will work best for their healing. The client sets the pace of their counseling, is treated with respect, acceptance, non-judgement, and empathy (Person Centered theory). I also incorporate an integrated approach, meaning I will use interventions from other therapeutic theories. I have been a licensed mental health counselor for just over a decade (went back to college later in life). Since 2020, I've worked as a telehealth mental health counselor; finding it to be incredibly beneficial tool for therapy.
