About

I am a Chicana art therapist and licensed marriage and family therapist. Most of my work has been focused on working with elementary-aged children. I love to inspire my clients to create, to be silly, and to feel free to express themselves. I empower mistakes as learning opportunities. A phrase that I say almost daily is, "Perfection does not exist; we are not robots." I often refer to the three components of CBT when discussing problematic situations- thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps us differentiate, acknowledge, and attempt to understand in the moment. Our first session will be a getting to know each other session. I want to invite you to share what you need help with and what you'd like to focus on in session. I will also invite you to create art to express what your emotions may look like in the moment, and then we will make a plan for the next steps.
