There’s always been this little voice inside you that whispers, “You’re a failure. You’re incompetent. You don’t deserve to be happy.” Logically you know that’s not true, but the critical voices won’t shut up. You take care of everyone – your kids, your partner, people at work- but you never take care of yourself. There’s no joy anymore. It’s exhausting just to get through the day. What’s even more frustrating is that you have so many personal and professional goals but you feel so emotionally paralyzed that you can’t even get started. This then reinforces those awful voices that tell you you’re a failure.
