"I get it." Those are three words I needed to hear when I met with a counselor the first time. I can promise you that when we meet, if I don't "get it", we won't try to just make it work. Your time, money, and well-being are all too important for us to just wait and see if we can figure out how to make a good and helpful connection. From marital/relationship struggles, to addictions, to navigating the tricky world of raising kids, and SO many things in between ... "I get it". It is sometimes difficult to find a counselor who has personal experience with the same issue(s) you might be carrying around.
