As a psychologist for 42 years, 21 years as a school-psychologist, 22 years in private practice, I am frequently asked about my areas of specialty or my modes of treatment. I explain that what WE do (therapy is a joint effort) has everything to do with the person sitting in front of me. Everyone brings his or her own problems, histories, relationships, personalities, situations, and resources into therapy and it is not a one size fits all paradigm. And as similar as we humans are, we are each of us, unique.
