Four words represent the heart of my counseling focus while working with adults and couples for over 25 years. These words are: Hurts, Habits, Home and Heaven. 1) HURTS are past or recent wounds that a person needs help and healing from; 2) HABITS are repetitive and unwanted emotions, thoughts and activities that control a person; 3) HOME represents our most important relationships between partners, spouses and friends, but where confusion, conflict and disconnection can occur; and 4) HEAVEN represents the importance of one's faith in God for finding love, direction, and assurance that we matter in this life and beyond.
