I am moved by clients’ bravery in coming to therapy when they find themselves with questions that feel too big to ask and certainly too big to examine alone. Journeying with clients who want to integrate their history with who they currently are is meaningful to me. I believe this integration allows a person to live a more whole and connected life. My approach is rooted in a trauma-informed, relational psychodynamic perspective. This means the therapeutic relationship is central to the process and that healing and growth happen through giving close attention to emotion and to a person’s internal world. This perspective also places clients’ hopes and concerns within their cultural and familial contexts.
