I believe that people seek out counseling because they feel that they are lacking guidance and are struggling to make sense of the problem(s) or issue(s) they are experiencing. In other words, they feel “stuck”. Because of this, they are searching for a way to change, move forward, or process their own thoughts and feelings related to whatever is causing their problem. Each person has the option to take charge of their own narrative and change their current problems or circumstances or create a new life all together. Through the counseling process, I am able to help my clients accomplish that and move forward. I am able to help interrupt negative cyclical patterns and create positive changes with my clients by understanding a client’s entire life history and their experiences so that a clear and comprehensive picture of each client can be developed and utilized.
