I am a psychotherapist in private practice for over 20 years. I taught classes on counseling skills and supervised new clinicians. I specialize in relationship issues with individuals and how to move through past issues to create healthier relationships in the future. I have also helped individuals release trauma, through EMDR, from dysfunctional family systems. I work with couples on issues of communication, conflict resolution, parenting, infidelity, and infertility. I have a special interest in remarriages and blended families and an article based on my dissertation was published in the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage. I am a relational therapist and I recognize the importance of connections to others. I use a unique approach of family systems theory and the deeper lens of psychoanalytic theory. Couples are encouraged to use curiosity and empathy with each other to bridge differences. Individuals explore perceptions of relationships and how the past may influence them.
