Dr. Schell’s approach to counseling is based on positive psychology, neuroscience-informed psychoeducation, and an integrative understanding of wellness. She offers clinical mental health counseling for clients suffering from stress, depression, or anxiety related to chronic illness or cancer survivorship. With many years of expertise diagnosing and addressing medical trauma, Dr. Schell also offers mental health assessments prior to medical procedures to identify suitability and psychological factors that will compromise or enhance the outcome of e.g. bariatric surgery, IVF treatment, pain management, or organ transplants. As a board certified forensic mental health evaluator and subject matter expert for medical trauma, Dr. Schell can provide independent assessments, consultation, and expert witness testimony for mental health conditions following TBI or emotional trauma from accidents or medical malpractice.
