I have extensive training and experience working with children, teens and adults ages 10 and up who struggle emotionally, behaviorally, and socially. I have firsthand experience working with kids in an educational setting as a School Counselor which has helped me better understand the challenges kids face today while at school. We will explore, identify and set goals to create an environment that fosters active participation in the counseling process through exploration of feelings, personal history, attitudes, beliefs, developmental needs, communication, self-expression, emotional regulation, and awareness. I use a variety of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Brainspotting, and Dialectical Behavior therapy, as well as incorporating trauma-informed therapy, when necessary. I offer parent/guardian therapy using SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) to help children overcome anxiety/OCD.
