In dynamic psychotherapy, we will traverse the depths of your personality and your lived experiences. We'll explore your self-concept, your relational style, your cognitive or problem-solving style and the ways in which you protect or defend yourself from pain. In truth, the ways in which we have learned to defend ourselves often become the greatest barrier to our happiness. For example, a person might learn to avoid vulnerability by creating emotional distance from others but find themselves deeply lonely, yearning for connection. As you begin to recognize your own defensive barriers and internal conflicts you can change them.
