When you determine that you should seek counseling services I keep in mind that each individual is different biologically, psychologically, sociologically and economically. I also understand that receiving a diagnosis will have an impact on you, your family, friends, lifestyle and social situation. As a counselor I am aware that left untreated many disorders can escalate and in some cases as in substance abuse cause chemical changes in the brain, with mental disorders left untreated can have a negative impact on your life.
