About

Hal was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, studied literature and creative writing in college, and, upon moving to New York, worked as a high school teacher for three years as a member of the NYC Teaching Fellows prior to pursuing his MSW at Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work. Having been drawn to the work of therapy by his longstanding interest, and belief, in the power of language and relationship as means of healing and growth, Hal has sought in his ten plus years as a therapist to ever more mindfully facilitate an atmosphere of openness and hopefulness in each session and with each client.
