Are you looking for a supportive, empathetic and kind counselor? I am Innes, the energetic owner of Black Cat Counseling LLC in Maine. My private practice is centered in taking a 'whole person' approach by supporting a diverse collection of people with their mental health concerns. Being client-centered is important in my practice, through being genuine and using strengths-based interventions. I believe it is important to meet a client where they are at and that they lead their treatment goals. Going to counseling can be nerve-wracking and I do my best to create a comfortable and safe space on the screen and in the office. Over the past 3 years as a counselor, I've worked with adolescents, teenagers and adults with anxiety disorders, PTSD, and brain injury. I am also EMDR certified for those with PTSD who are interested in learning more about this intervention. Art and play therapy are other means for emotional expression I'll use with clients, even on the telehealth platform.
