Hi, I'm Jalyssa. I grew up in a home where people came to be heard. My father was a pastor, my mother a cosmetologist - two very different worlds, but both built on the same thing: trust. People sat in our living room and in my mother's chair and shared what they couldn't say anywhere else. I learned early what it means to hold space for someone without judgment. That foundation shaped everything - my 15 years teaching adolescents, my work in rehabilitation, and now my calling as a counselor. I know what it's like to need someone in your corner. And I know what becomes possible when you finally have one. I'm a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Before becoming a counselor, I spent over 15 years teaching adolescents which gave me deep insight into the challenges young people face around identity, self-esteem, relationships and life transitions.
