About
Traumatic events overwhelm our capacity to cope and lead to profound changes in the brain and body. Trauma can lead to feelings of self blame, shame, and isolation. Due to a fear that the world is no longer safe, people develop ways of protecting themselves. These defenses, while once helpful, often negatively impact the way one functions in their job, school, and relationships. Thankfully, we all have within us a fundamental need to flourish and thrive. I specialize in trauma and PTSD and have worked extensively with adult and adolescent survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and relational trauma for 15 years. My main goals for therapy include reducing the shame, guilt, overwhelming fear, and isolation that many trauma survivors experience.
