We have more than one part of ourselves to speak from! "Imagination," says renown trauma therapist Bessel van der Kolk, "gives us the opportunity to envision new possibilities for ourselves." If your goals include imagining a new way of thinking in service to a healthier self, and if you want to show up for others and allow them to show up for you, I facilitate groups that pair traditional, essential support work around trauma with some discussion of engaging poems by published poets which help us make meaning from our experience and offer richness of authentic expression. The discussion inevitably illuminates by collaboration!
