Being a parent is hard. Sometimes we all need a little support. To be able to support, guide and help someone identify not only what their own challenges are but also what their unique strengths are and how to use those strengths to overcome their challenges is what makes this job so rewarding. Sometimes those issues are depression (not being able to face going to school), anxiety (feeling overwhelmed, nervous about everyday activities) or maybe more behavioral based (getting into legal trouble). They need someone to talk to who doesn't judge but can help them identify why they make the decisions they do.
