I believe that anxiety, depression and relationship problems are the result of past negative experiences and traumas. Your traumas can be a one-time event like a car accident or a series of hurts from growing up with an addicted parent. The same way a large tree falls across a stream and changes its course, a beaver dam with hundreds of sticks can have the same result. Traumatic experiences work in the same way, changing the course of your life. Our past experiences shape the way that we view ourselves and the world. Do we view the world as a place full of joy and a place to thrive, or as uncertain and often unsafe? I work collaboratively to identify strengths and to help use positive traits to overcome past issues and negative patterns. I have extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, families and couples who have lived through negative life events. Most recently, I have worked with combat veterans helping to resolve wartime and family issues.
