I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and although I have been trained in the Rogerian model (interchangeable empathy), I have found that not all clients respond to this model. In my practice, I believe the slogan, "one size fits all" is a misnomer...one size fits one (is my belief). I believe in using a therapeutic model (or models) that will help bring about change and growth for my client. I have found this type of flexibility allows the client to become a better, healthier, and more productive version of themself.
