My approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI), a counseling method that helps patients change their behavior by increasing their motivation. It's a collaborative, goal-oriented process that's based on the idea that patients have the ability to change themselves.
