I understand how difficult it can be for some to ask for help. Whether you're considering entering therapy for the first time, or have prior experience, the first priority is on developing a sense of safety in the therapy session. Once a trusting connection is developed, I allow the client to identify their own goals. I believe therapy is about change, but the type of change we work toward and the pace with which we work, is determined by the client. I provide support and guidance in this process. I offer a supportive environment focused on developing the adaptive behaviors that you can use in reaching your goals. By first identifying what's getting in the way, we use a team approach to knock down these barriers and substitute effective means, while still maintaining the behaviors that have proven helpful.
