About
I believe the purpose of counseling children is to help them empower themselves to make their own choices and have their voices be heard. I have a degree in Licensed Professional Counseling from Central Michigan University, and a bachelor's degree in psychology and child development. After graduation, I found my passion helping children and parents navigate challenges in grief and trauma. I have found that allowing children to be who they are during sessions, allows them to feel safe and secure to express their true emotions. I work through an empowerment and trauma-informed model. To put it simply, I want your child to be able to make their own choices about their care and their life. I most commonly use art therapy, physical activities, and education with the children I work with. One thing is for certain, my client will be able to help guide how our sessions are structured.
